I have been meaning to write this message for a long time. I went on this site 2 years ago exactly. I was completely dubious and sceptical that anything may come of it. I was bored with meeting drunken guys in pubs/night clubs and nothing ever coming of it…We met 2 years ago, and we’re engaged to be married next year… we are a great couple but if it wasn’t for internet dating I really don’t think our paths would ever have crossed. To all those thinking of doing it and worried about how it may work out I would advise you to go for it. It was with some trepidation that I joined the site nine months ago, however it kept me totally absorbed whilst “fishing”. I was not looking for anything special, but deep down knew that if the RIGHT person came along then I could totally commit…There is a certain stigma attached to internet dating, yet I have found it to be more constructive than the original ground roots level of yesteryear. I too read all those “Success Stories” thinking that 1 or 2 were actually real & that the rest were written by staff members who were desperate to make the site look good! That’s all changed - I met my boyfriend through this site in May 2011 & for a while we were just friends, even though he was pretty-much crazy about me. Thank-you! Perseverance pays off. I tried this site on and off over a two year period after my divorce 5 years ago. Although I met one or two fantastic blokes, who to this day remain friends, the elusive ONE seemed to remain just out of my grasp.
